Separation and worry

Poem by Naji Al-Majaresh (English below)

I am a carrier of worries.

I carry what mountains cannot carry.

My dream is big but the burden is huge;

I’m separated from my love, and love is a killer.

To be away is not easier with separation,

It kills and makes the blood flow.

I want you, my love.

I am not a traveling salesman.

You want to ignore me by your pride;

I’m the one who is carrying your worries.

You want to hurt a heart that loved you through separation;

You are a statue of love.

I want you to be happy.

Who will deliver the news of my death

After you open your phone.
