Desert and wind

English below…

Desert and wind

The sun smiled and the pearl appeared

The darkness of the night became a morning in my eyes

She made me feel and think until noon

She made me hear poems that hunted me with an arrow

She got lost and the poem’s demon is gone

The ones who love to scream, what should I do?

My voice is gone and my oud is broken

How do I sing when the heart is filled with wounds?

They divided my country and created panic in it

Everything in its land became possible and allowed Chess and Backgammon games Oh dice, what did the weapon do?

An overcrowded playground

Where is Izz al-Din where are you Omar?

Oh people, who are good and who love the prophet

In Sham, there is a constant fear

The sheep multiplied and the barking increased.
